Some Thoughts for Thinking Democrats in 2004:
A brief discourse for those undecided about who to vote for in 2004
UPDATE
November 3, 2004. Thank you America for re-electing George W. Bush. Especially you
Democrats who had the courage to cross party lines to vote for the better candidate.
This is a very positive sign for the United States, reaffirming our resolve to defeat
terrorism and accomplish great things for America. This update will have some
comments on the original text marked in red.
1) THE RADICAL LEFT HAS HIJACKED YOUR PARTY
The Democratic Party has almost completely lost touch with the ideals of the majority of Americans.
Aligning yourselves with the likes of Michael Moore and other America-hating anti-patriots
is harming your chances of getting someone in office, not helping. Why was Fahrenheit 911 picked
as the best "documentary" movie in Cannes? (even though it was almost universally dismissed as contrived)
Because it was the most anti-American, and the French hate America. This Kerry supporter has said Americans are
"possibly the dumbest people on the planet." Let's not prove him right by electing Kerry.
Kerry's refusal to
distance himself from the Leftist propaganda left far too many Democrats out in the cold.
Much of his platform was not relevant to America's needs, and normal thinking people
voted for Bush.
2) CHOOSE YOUR ALLIES MORE WISELY
Although not blatantly anti-American like Moore; Al Sharpton, Ted Kennedy,
Howard Dean, Jesse Jackson, Al Gore, the Clintons, and others only serve to
demonstrate the lack of quality candidates, and
certainly do not showcase the best the party has to offer. Since their personal agendas surpass
the greater good, most Americans ignore what this bunch says. You would do well to distance yourself from
their ill-conceived rhetoric.
On a related note, Kerry's running mate and his wife have made their riches through the
misfortune of others, and are part of the problem in America - NOT part of the solution.
3) THE ECONOMY IS IMPROVING, NOT DECLINING
Contrary to the doom-and-gloom predictions of the Kerry campaign, we are NOT in a depression.
Economic growth is happening at a pace fast enough for Alan Greenspan to suggest imposing higher
interest rates in order to slow it down. This is a far cry from Kerry's declaration that we are in a depression.
We will be however, if Kerry is elected because his proposed reversal of Bush's tax cuts will
drive the U.S. to the highest unemployment percentages ever. Kerry's "Robinhood" approach to
taxation will bleed the nation's most wealthy (a.k.a. the employers) leaving them no recourse but to
outsource overseas and cut back American workers. This leads to the next point:
Reports on November 3, 2004
are showing that the economy is healthy, stable, and improving. What was Kerry thinking?
4) UNEMPLOYMENT FIGURES ARE MISLEADING, IF NOT FALSE
The Kerry campaign has been throwing around statements like "20 million Americans have lost jobs under the current administration."
There are serious problems with those figures. If in fact 20 million people had become unemployed in the past 4 years, that would be over 7.1% of the population.
Yet the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics show unemployment at slightly under 5.1%. That is a 2% difference, or a total of 5.6 million more Americans who are employed than Kerry claims.
It becomes clear why they refer to the number of unemployed people in millions rather than percentages - it has greater impact when finger-pointing. Nonetheless, 14.4 million in the U.S. are unemployed.
By way of comparison, during the Clinton administration - when everyone assumed the economy was good - unemployment was (at it's lowest point) 4%, which means 11.2 million Americans were unemployed, a net difference between 1995 and now of only 1.1% or 3.2 million,.
For the first 3 years of the Clinton administration unemployment was 5.6%, or approximately 15.7 million unemployed - 1.3 million more than today. The bottom line of all this is the fact that U.S. unemployment has hovered around these same percentages for decades, with no significant changes under any administration.
As a side note, people in the U.S. now have both more personal and disposable income than at any time under Clinton.
That leads to the conclusion that there is a segment of the population who simply cannot or will not work.
That said, the last thing we need is the type of work programs usually created by the Democrats that are almost entirely government payroll jobs.
In other words, people who are employed at taxpayer expense. This is one reason why:
5) THE DEMOCRATIC AGENDA IS PERILOUSLY CLOSE TO SOCIALISM
While the Democratic Party's apparent concern for the poor in America is commendable,
their proposed means for helping them actually facilitates greater poverty. Giveaway programs
only increase dependency on the government, and are funded by higher taxes.
The people of America would do well to observe the way the Democratic strategy works.
They take advantage of the great number of votes at stake (statistically, approximately 60% of the U.S.
population is classified "lower class") by appealing to the less wealthy with promises of "better times."
However, this lasts just long enough to get voted into office where they can execute
their real agenda - finding ways to get more taxes out of the middle class and wealthy.
The poor are soon forgotten - until the next election.
Are the poverty-stricken of America aware that John Kerry and his wife are the wealthiest
people to ever run for President in the United States? Do the poor think the Kerry's can identify with them?
Are the unemployed being told that the Heinz empire (to which Theresa Kerry is heir) outsources thousands of jobs overseas?
Are they aware that it's bankruptcy lawyers like Mrs. John Edwards that have facilitated their poverty and hindered their
chances of recovery?
My Dad wisely admonished me in the 60's that although socialism or communism could never overthrow
the U.S. by overt means, we must always be vigilant for the attack from within. The cold war may
be over, and Russia has fallen, but the communist spirit is alive and well when
political positions want to put all Americans on the same economic footing by
draining the wealth of those who work hard to give to those who refuse to work.
6) MORE TAXES IS NOT THE SOLUTION
Kerry's approach to improving the economy would be disastrous. It has taken the better part
of four years for Bush to revive the ailing economy left behind by the Clinton administration.
Although Clinton may have balanced the budget, the way it was accomplished was through the highest taxes
in American history - although that fact went unnoticed due to general prosperity.
However, the Clinton legacy proved to be a recipe for disaster, as the economy was already
in a dramatic downward slide as George Bush took office.
But rather than simply criticize; education for the impoverished should be foremost among the
proposed solutions. Doing so will enable them to become productive members of society;
which breeds independence, and improved self-worth leading to success. As a side
effect, crime drops, and all of society benefits. Handout programs only guarantee that Government dependence
and poverty will continue for future generations.
Here is one campaign promise certain to be broken - "taxes will be raised only for the wealthiest 3%." Be assured, ALL
Americans will be paying higher taxes if Kerry is elected.
Wall Street said it
loud and clear. On Nov. 2, news that exit polls were showing Kerry a likely winner resulted
in the Dow dropping like a rock, closing more than 200 points down. On Nov. 3, with relative
certainty that Bush has won, the markets soared by over 130 points in the first hour. Early
reports indicate businesses are breathing a sigh of relief with the knowledge they have at least 4
more years of taxes being held under control.
7) JOHN KERRY'S VIETNAM EXPERIENCE IS IRRELEVANT
While it is appreciated and perhaps to be commended, it shows absolutely nothing about his
ability to lead our country in a time of war. That war cannot
be compared with Iraq in any way. Further, upon his return he betrayed the trust of his fellow
servicemen and joined the anti-government movement that was popular in those days.
Kerry has gone on continually saying Iraq is the "wrong war at the wrong time,"
all the while flaunting his Vietnam service. Vietnam was ended over 30 years ago, yet that
is his only point of reference. It seems his focus is on the wrong war at the wrong time.
His voting record in the Senate further disqualifies him from becoming Commander in Chief,
proving his weakness on defense as demonstrated by regularly voting to take funding away from defense.
As a side note, if you think Kerry is out of touch with reality on the terrorism issue, get this:
that idiot Michael Moore is telling people that "there is no terrorist threat." Where was he on 9/11?
Apparently the tape from
terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden reminded people that there is a terrorist threat
(contrary to Moore's claim), and that it is more than a "nuisance" (Kerry's words).
Simply put, Kerry never gave the country a sense that he could handle the war on terror. (See
the link below to understand why.)
8) DON'T EVEN GO DOWN THE HEALTH CARE ROAD
We had 8 years of the Clintons promising "sweeping changes" in America's health care system.
The sum of what was accomplished? ZERO. Historically, the Democrats have talked a lot about
health care, but rarely done anything to improve it. The socialized health care Kerry proposes
would be a miserable failure. One only needs to look to our neighbors to the north, Canada, whose
socialized health care plan is one of the worst in the civilized countries of the world.
And are American voters aware that John Edwards, as a personal injury lawyer, is among those
who have directly contributed to the elevated the cost of health care as the result of unbridled litigation?
9) HATE SPEECH AND DIVISIVENESS WON'T BUILD A STRONGER AMERICA
The degree of hatred being spewed forth from many Democrats is historically unsurpassed.
Vicious false accusations that are designed to incite rather than create constructive dialog
are alienating even the staunchest Democratic supporters. Rather than addressing issues in a fashion
that promotes national unity by citing common cause, the talking heads of the party
seem to prefer the division caused by an "us-vs.-them" mentality. It's rich against poor,
black against white, male against female, gay against straight, ad infinitum. Does John Kerry see
two Americas because he wants it that way? It doesn't take a Harvard law degree to understand that
division can never lead to a more united and "stronger America" - despite the Kerry campaign slogan.
10) FALSE RACE ISSUES DISHONOR BLACK AMERICANS
To suggest that the Republican Party would try to stifle the so-called "black vote" is
ludicrous. Statistically, black Americans tend to live in the inner city, at lower income levels,
with less education, and experience more crime. This is a serious problem in our country, and one
where it behooves all Americans to help with the remedy. However, giveaway programs favored by
most Democratic candidates only exacerbate the problem. Education and opportunity (the Republican
approach) must be provided - not handouts that ensure continued failure.
Further, America today is seeing greater success than ever by black Americans, and as education
increases, they tend to vote Republican. In the 2000 election approximately twice as many in the
black community cast their votes for Republicans instead of Democrats. Why? Because years of
supporting the Democrats has produced no results. Since this hampers the Democratic agenda,
fear-mongering has been propagated in an attempt to cause election strife. This will set race relations
back a hundred years, and is a despicable act on the part of the Democrats that should be publicly condemned.
11) CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENTS ARE MEANINGLESS
Only the most simple-minded vote for a candidate based on the opinions of the
careless thinking and misplaced authority that is blaring out of Hollywood and
other entertainment arenas. If you want to hear the most illogical arguments,
unfounded accusations, or non sequitur conclusions
from the least informed, consult with Hollywood. Most rock stars and entertainers know little about the
workings of government, and have exhibited their lack of knowledge by some of the ridiculous
statements they have made. Those who condemn the country that enabled them to become rich
bite the hand that feeds. Perhaps they should pack their bags and spread their
anti-American sentiment in some other country - permanently.
12) SUPPORT FOR THE HOMOSEXUAL SPECIAL INTERESTS ALIENATES THE REMAINING 93% OF AMERICA
Despite the hype, Americans realize that the homosexual population is nothing more than a special interest
group with an agenda to change American policy to accept views that the vast majority of people believe are wrong.
Even if the Kerry campaign garners every single vote by pandering to the homosexual community,
including its sympathizers, it is an insignificant percentage that will not change the
outcome of the election. This applies to almost any special interest group.
EVERY SINGLE
STATE that had gay marriage on the ballot banned it. America says NO to self-serving,
self-indulgent special interests.
13) BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BELIEVE FROM THE MAJOR MEDIA OUTLETS
The "news" has become little more than editorials and opinions.
Factual reporting with objectivity has been replaced with political agendas -
and there is little concealing of which way a news outlet leans. Unfortunately,
the quality of reporting and researching of facts has taken a dramatic slide for
the worse, as seen with the Dan Rather scandal. Believe very little of the evening
news in the last few weeks prior to the election. Prepare to hear ABC, NBC, and CBS
announcing a Kerry victory before the votes are even all in, as a last-ditch attempt
to sway voters to "vote for the winner."
Despite a subliminal
Kerry campaign run by the major media outlets; despite hours of free interviews, promotions,
sound bites, and preferential images; the American people cut through the rhetoric and
decisively re-elected a proven leader.
America, we need to take the time to THINK FOR OURSELVES.
Please consider these points before voting. Do more research on the issues, and get the big picture before casting your vote.
Don't get sidetracked by lesser issues. The big picture is that National and Global security takes precedence over all else.
Honestly answer this one question before casting your vote: Which candidate would the Islamic terrorists prefer to see in office?
The one who has attacked them on their own soil, stopped their money trails, and captured their leaders (Bush)...
... Or the one who promises to leave them alone to commit their nefarious deeds unchallenged? (Kerry)
The choice is quite clear - John Kerry is not right for America or the World.
NEWS FLASH! Terrorists make de facto endorsement for Kerry. This is because Kerry does not understand the war on terror.
